It’s been a year – join a free, therapist-led virtual support circle for nurses at noon EST on May 6th.

This safe space to help process grief and loss is a place where the capes can come off and compartmentalization can come down. Gift yourself an hour where you don’t need to hold it all together. During nurses’ week, enter a space to feel your shoulders drop and your breath connect with your heart.

Pre-registration required: https://forms.gle/BMbVNMcH2JQo3B4x5

On-going support beyond nurses week may also be offered if the group desires.

NTC and NMA Solidarity Statement for Protection of Transgender and Non-binary Lives

We as nurses and members of The Nursology Theory Collective and Nursing Mutual Aid emphatically condemn and denounce HB 1570, a bill passed by the AK General Assembly on March 30, 2021, and signed into law on April 6, 2021, which bars access to safe health care for transgender and non-binary minors, one of many anti-transgender youth legislation bills that are currently being considered and/or codified into law in many other states including in South Dakota, Georgia, Texas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Current bills can be found on the ACLU anti-transgender bill tracker here. The Arkansas bill is the most restrictive to date and blocks any person under 18 years of age from accessing gender-affirming care including puberty blockers and gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT), an oppressive structural barrier that puts the lives of transgender youth in serious danger and prevents health care providers from providing protective, affirming, and supportive health care.
